Ever borrowed a friend’s tablet, smartphone or computer to check your bank balance, Facebook account or watch Netflix; and forgot to sign out? Sure, if you’re happy to provide your friends with free Netflix access, go for it – but I’m sure you wouldn’t want them to know how much moolah you have in your bank account, am I right? This is where Key steps in — Key is a master key to the digital world, designed to be on your person at all times. It’s essentially a secure digital locker (I know, the irony) containing your online passwords. The device activates after a two-step authentication process which includes scanning your fingerprint and a sequence of turns.
The concept itself is very intriguing, but I don’t see it materialising anytime soon. If it does happen — sure, sign me up and take my money.
